School Lunches
All Student Lunches for 2023-2024 are Free
The Nevada City School District participates in the National School Lunch Program by offering nutritious meals every school day. Our district will continue to participate in an exciting lunch program with fresh nutritious food provided by the Nevada Joint Union High School Nutrition Services (Foothill Fresh) and Co-Sponsored by Sierra Harvest.

We are asking families, who may qualify for The Free and Reduced Lunch Program, to complete an application, although it is not a requirement this year. The State will be providing free meals for all who order a lunch.

The school benefits in other ways from the completion of the application. Some state and federally funded programs provide increased dollars based on the number of students who qualify for the program. In addition, state reports required by schools, such as the Local Control Accountability Plan, must track dollars designated to target specific groups of students. We appreciate families taking the time to fill out this application.
