Experience Required: two years of custodial, janitorial or grounds maintenance. Equivalent experience may be substituted or waived at the discretion of the superintendent or designee. High School graduate or equivalent. Special Requirements: Medical Category – III (Heavy Physical Effort) Positions in this category require physical ability associated with prolonged periods of heavy physical labor. Position regularly performs heavy physical labor requiring ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move heavy objects or materials. Great physical demand for strength and endurance. Requires heavy physical effort such as lifting over 50 LBS. Or carrying any object weighing 25 LBS. Use of ladders inside and outside of buildings.

Must possess a valid California Driver's License and meet all district requirements (fingerprint clearance, pass medical exam and TB certification).

Knowledge of: Acceptable methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls, and fixtures; cleaning materials, disinfectants, and common tools and equipment used in custodial work. Acceptable methods of use of supplies, tools, equipment, and site upkeep. Ability to: Quickly learn schedules, procedures, and tools needed to perform all duties. Read and understand material safety data sheets. Read and carry out oral and written instructions, and to work without immediate supervision.
