Step 1: Residency Requirements

Students that live within the Nevada City School District residence boundary will automatically be accepted to our district. If you are not sure, please take a moment to check out the NCSD District Boundary Map Tool. SOME Nevada City addresses are in other school district areas. Scroll down the page until you see the "Search Now" button, it will open another tab and you'll see where you can type in your street address then click Search button. Now that you've found your home address click on the "Report" link on the right side to see parcel information. On the bottom of that page, click the "Districts" tab and you will see which school district you are in. If you have any questions about this, please contact the school office. 
 
Once you have verified that you reside within the district boundaries you will be required to provide the following documents as proof of residency. Documents must have the residence address on them.
 
CATEGORY 1 (you need only one of these):
  1. Current property tax payment receipt imprinted with parent/guardian name and address
  2. Current rent/lease agreement
    • The rent/lease agreement should include, parent/guardian name, indication of the number of children residing there, manager or owner's name and phone number
  3. Current mortgage statement
CATEGORY 2 (you need TWO of the following):
  1. Most current state or federal tax return imprinted with parent/guardian name and address
  2. Voter registration
  3. Correspondence from a government agency
  4. Current payroll stub imprinted with name and address of parent/guardian
  5. Original utility bill within the last 30 days with the name and address of parent/guardian
