Steve Davis Recipient of the Nevada City Kilroy Award 2013-14

Steve Davis is an enthusiatic teacher and mentor who heads up the Bicycle Recycle Project at Seven Hills Middle School. He is passionate when helping students refurbish bikes that are donated to the school. Recently the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce named its winners for the six annual awards of excellence the Chamber gives out each year. Seven Hills School teacher, Steve Davis, has been named recipient of the prestigious 2012 Elza Kilroy Award for outstanding community service. Nevada City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Cathy Whittlesey, says Steve Davis’ contributions from his Recycle Bicycle Project makes Nevada City a better community.

In addition to Nevada City 2012 Elza Kilroy Award, the California School Board Association awarded Steve Davis and the BicycleRecycle Project the CSBA “Golden Bell Award” because of .....“the Bicycle Recycle Project’s innovative way of helping students enhance their environmental awareness, social skills, technical skills, community awareness, along with critical thinking, problem solving, and mechanical skills.”
